Glaze firing all done!!

Here is what we seen when I open the lid this morning!! Wow, it was like opening a huge Christmas present!!

And nothing was glazed to the kiln shelving!! Not bad for a first timer! lol

A batter bowl.. very earthy coloring, don’t ya think…

My husband said this would make a great coco mug!! It turned out quite  lovely!

Ready…glazed…fire!! haha

All pots glazed and ready to be fired for the last time. Going to fire it up in the morning.

This is my first glaze firing. The bisque fire went fantastic. Not a busted pot in site!!  It took me 3 days to get all the pots glazed= 2 full shelves and 2 half shelves of pottery. I can’t wait to see how they turn out!!

First bisque firing…

I started candeling the pots last night. The actual bisque started at 7 this morning….so far so good!! I have heard no pots breaking.. cross fingers

Temp is 1055 degrees F. And climbing. Looking forward to these being done and glazing.

Started throwing some pitchers last night.

Homecoming not happing ....

Homecoming not happening for our family this year. We are going for the quite laid back kind of week before school goes back. No fighting the crowds, no bubble gum stuck to my shoe and dragging it along behind me for half a mile. Not worring whether the carnival guys are strapping my kids into those rickety rides. Sitting here watching the pine trees sway against a clear blue sky....that's what I'm talking about......

Wanting to go camping today….

Not going today.. kids complaining…

Not going today..kids being stressful..

Not going today..cant get kids off their duffs..

Kids..we are not going camping..enough said!

Seems to be a pattern here today…. :(

Why is it as it gets closer to time for school to start back, children..well our children become more difficult?

Letting it pass….

The moment I had been waiting for for 2 years happen yesterday.  My cell phone rang..

phone: Is this Alicia?
me: yes
Phone: this is TRCC RN Nursing Program, you have been selected in the program, if you don't want it we are going to give your seat to someone else.
me: thinking**(blood drains to my toes)
me: thinking**(this lady is not very friendly)
Me: I'm passing, give my seat to someone else.
phone: **click**
me: thinking**(how rude)!!

I honestly did not think I would get into the program, hundreds apply and only 30 get in. I studied my rump off in college for 2 years. Carried a 3.7 GPA, last semester I made a 4.0.

Baby its cold outside….

One day it is 80 the next 40!! Brrr…I’m so ready for spring! I have been trying to think of something to do for Easter as the boys are getting older, youngest now 9. Hunting eggs probably would not be at the top of their list of things to do, lol. They want to go out in the pontoon boat but baby its cold outside!!

Well if I don't get into the RN program this year, I'm going to take a semester off from college, and relax. That sounds good. Then next year take the RN exam and the LPN exam and see which one I get into, and go from there. No stress…

Hmmm now the big question…what do I want for my birthday that is April 9th I will be a whopping 36 years old…

1. the boys no fighting, all hugs and sappy! (LOL yea right) I would have more of a chance of seeing a pig fly by…

2. Must have a white cake with buttercrème icing…I can taste it now!!  Cake is a food group ya know!

3. Getting accepted into the RN program would make for a nice b-day gift.

4. If it was warm and sunny, oh and not muddy (that's a big one, I don't like my shoes dirty lol) it would be fun to go hiking.

5. I can not think of any kind of material item I would like…I have everything that I need or want. Other than cake…lol

6. a road trip would be awesome….hmm only if #1 above was applied

There is one catch to my birthday… mine is the  9th, and my Baileys is the 10th he will be 10, and my dads is the 10th as well…….Birthdays are crazy at our house, and expensive! OH!! and fattening, while all that cake excites me, my pants tend to shrink….

Brand new Year is moving at warp speed…

Hard to believe it is already almost March.  Bailey attended his first music festival at Semo and he scored a superior on his violin!! Yea , Bailey!

I took the RN entrance exam…crazy hard..I scored well enough to  submit my form, but now I have to wait and see if I actually got in!

I’m ready to go out and dig in the dirt and start getting the gardens ready for spring, but it is so muddy here!
